I have just now realized that it has been many months since my last blog. I could offer up all kinds of excuses, but suffice it to say that I don’t wish to produce just for the sake of producing. It has however come to my attention that if I don’t get with it – I might never do so… so here it is. My re-foray into the world of blogging.
Stuff. I have been grappling with the stuff that sits on my vanity by the sink in the bathroom that I share with my one and only. Little bottles and jars were piling up. Skin savers, rejuvenators, younger this and younger that. Six step systems that promised that I would recapture the last 10 years if I were just a little more diligent.
What I decided was that I was too Scottish to throw it all out so I chose to use it all up. What was the result? I suddenly found an extra 10 mins before bed and in the a.m. to cleanse, refresh and moisturize my face. Not because I believed any of the claims, but because I had this stuff to use up. Lo and behold – I noticed that my skin was looking a little brighter. My bags a little less baggy (I think).
Did the products make the difference or did making an effort make the difference? Hmm.
As we head into that “I should join the gym or start yoga or ‘get fit'” period of the post Christmas season – maybe all you need to do – is just start. Just start something. But you don’t have to wait. You see, the bottles and jars on my vanity didn’t care whether I started yesterday, today or tomorrow… or Jan 1st. What mattered is that I started. Don’t wait. There is no magic moment. There is no best time to begin. What I can tell you is that if you start now – you’ll start to see (or better, feel) that the changes are underway.
Thanks for reading. I am eternally grateful for your attention – but will be more grateful if you take the time to make an effort towards a better you. You deserve it.
