Princess Pedal Road Clinic 2018

The Princess Pedal Road Clinic has been another wonderful experience.  With the help of my talented and enthusiastic assistant coach Princess Ashley, we have had the pleasure of working with another terrific group of ladies.

Princess Cylclocross who although cycled many years ago – had lost her mojo for riding.  Her re-awakened skills and new-found confidence in the saddle however has her itching to hit the road again.

Princess Leia who after a couple of years away from riding was looking for a group to ride with and a little instruction on the how-to’s of hills and pace-lines.  She will I’m sure, be back in the saddle again – woot-woot!  May the force be with you.

Princess D who has discovered something really great in riding offering one of the best quotes of the evening on Day 2 – “I’m in LOVE!” (with her bike, I believe … not me).  She plans to take up triathlon and will be a force to be reckoned with for sure.

Princess Matching-Nails-with-Bike who has accomplished many firsts on this little adventure.  Her first tire-change, first pump of the tires, first real-road ride and first on-the-move drink from her water bottle!  Most importantly though – has realized that speed isn’t quite as scary as she thought.  Next step – new clip-in pedals.

Princess K had lost her enthusiasm for riding but has reawakened her interest which I feel will turn into a newly ignited passion.  A little uncertain about the nuances of her bike on Day 2, found her legs (and her lungs!) within minutes and was on her way again.  Just like riding a bike, huh Princess K?

Princess Forgot-My-Phone was off to a rough start with a few bits and pieces left at home on the first night but was ready to roll on Day 2.  With a new ride and a new attitude – she tackled the hills like a fiend.  A little more time in the saddle is all this Princess needs and her riding buddies had better look out because she’s quick, strong and ready to go!

I love Princess Pedal Clinics.  They are an opportunity for ladies to get together with others who share the desire to ride more but want to learn more about how to make it safer, be more comfortable and to hone their skills a bit.  At these clinics, there is no pressure of time, speed or skill.  Everyone is welcome and the environment is supportive and non-judgmental.  For me it is a chance to help ladies explore the beauty and freedom that cycling offers.  There is so much to love.

“Whoever invented the bicycle deserves the thanks of humanity” — Lord Charles Beresford, British MP.

I definitely concur.
