We call ourselves KaMoCo. We have a common background and share a common desire – to deliver wellness activities for ladies through the Revive Wellness Retreat.
Our next one is coming up at the end of September (28-30) at Camp Kindle in Water Valley, AB and if you haven’t experienced summer camp – ever, or if you really miss the fun you had at summer camp – you should consider this weekend away. Here are my thoughts on the 2017 Revive Retreat.
**************************************************************************************************
With Revive Retreat 2018 only a few weeks away – I was thinking the other day about the 2017 Revive Retreat and how much fun I had.
I have to say that the whole experience was a bit of a surprise because as a rule – I am quite introverted and the thought of spending 2 days with a bunch of ladies that I didn’t know – doing activities that I wasn’t sure of – even though I was one of the organizers – had me mildly (read: extremely) terrified.
Thankfully, my friends and colleagues Morag and Kathy were familiar with the ‘summer camp’ scene and so I felt I was in good hands but still, there was this nagging worry that (insert your own adolescent insecurities here)… I would make a fool of myself; the ladies wouldn’t like me; I wouldn’t know what to say to anyone; I would disappoint my team in some way.
But, here’s how it went and what I learned.
- Revive Retreat ‘summer camp in the fall’ was a gas. I laughed my head off doing activities that I had never done before. We did some high-ropes (harnessed of course) and low ropes courses. We danced. We sang campfire songs. We hiked and made some friendship bracelets. We hauled some rocks, helping Camp Kindle with some on-site chores that needed doing. We drank wine and ate some junk food as well as some healthy food (nice balance!).
- I met some wonderful ladies from all walks of life and enjoyed every minute (to-win-it).
- Many of the other campers felt apprehensive going in, but we all came away with some great memories and good vibes.
The weekend was a big success for the Retreat and a bigger surprise for me. I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to spending another weekend with a new group of ladies – to recharge after a very full summer and prepare for another busy fall.
Hope to see you there.
