Covid, Comox and making Hay.

The long awaited 2021 LiveSplendidly! cycle tours in Comox, BC are officially underway.  There have been a multitude of adjustments over the past several months, with the entire world as well as in our own miniscule world.  I don’t have to say that COVID has made for a rather unpredictable bed-fellow.

The Comox Valley is as beautiful as I remember.  Perhaps a little busier than last year with business as usual in many ways.  We arrived with the sky blue and the sun shining.  The weather this week will bring some much needed rain after a particularly dry and hot summer – and we are happy for the residents – really.  It’s just that it will make for a more soggy week for bicycle touring than we’d hoped.  Roll with it, right?

Today’s ride would normally have been a nice light tour of the Courtenay/Comox area and a chance to stretch one’s legs a bit after a lengthy car ride.  Since we expect to have to modify the week – the morning ride was extended and an afternoon hike in Seal Bay Nature Park was a must-do.  Making hay while the sun shines – so-to-say.

With rain supposedly settling in overnight, tomorrow may be a car-tour of Denman and possibly Hornby Islands.  There are always different ways to explore.

For now though, it’s time to take a shower, put up our feet and let the day’s events settle in.

Until next time,

LiveSplendidly!
