Princesses ride … and have some serious fun.

Princess Pedal Clinics are meant to help ladies get comfortable on their bikes.

Sometimes, that means starting from scratch.

Last year there was Princess Squeaky who rented a bike to take the clinic.  Really very new to road cycling; skinny tires and clip-in pedals – all a very new experience for her.  I’ll have you know that she’s got herself a new bike this year and has taken to cycling with ease.  Looking forward to more rides this year with this particular Princess.

This year,  there’s Princess BBQ.  Not only new to cycling, but on a new bike for her and a mountain bike to boot!  After a day of chasing everyone on her big fat tires, Princess BBQ headed to the local bike store to obtain some slick tires.  Whew.  The scary thing is – even with a disadvantage with her Mountain bike gears – she can now stay with the road riders .  I can’t imagine what she could do on a more stealth Steed.

Princess Bearspaw claimed at first to be nervous of the roads, having done a fair bit of mountain biking.  She and her Prince would like to do some road riding (together) and touring together so she’s branching out and attending the clinic to overcome some of those fears.  If days two and three were any indication – I think she’s over her fears.  Solid and strong on that road bike of hers… Princess Bearspaw will be a force to be reckoned with.

The Princesses Twins (your know… finish eachother’s sentences kind of twins) came to the clinic for two main reasons (go figure, twins… two?).  The first was to support Princess BBQ and the second, was to learn about some bike maintenance.  Having been riding for some time together on many long trips without the skill to change a tire, these have been two lucky Princesses (just sayin’).  They are now expert at tire changing and chain cleaning and greasing so will have absolutely nothing to fear out there on the road.

With this road clinic behind us now – I look forward to seeing all of these Princesses out on the roads and trails again.  Bon Chance Princesses and thank you for being a bright spot in my year!  Ride on!

A special thank you to Carolyne at Crave Cupcakes for helping fuel these ladies throughout their Princess Pedal Clinic.  Delicious cookies are never far away when you’re a deserving Princess.

LiveSplendidly!
