This weekend I had the pleasure of getting to know some really terrific Princesses.
The Princess Pedal Clinic started on Friday evening and as usual, a small group of quiet, slightly apprehensive cyclists arrived. By Sunday noon, after Saturday’s hill climbing and Sunday’s pace lining – we had a relatively raucous group of confident riders depart for home.
There was Princess “Crash” – who demonstrated some absolutely SPECTACULAR spills (on the soft grass) – breaking the ice for everyone and winning the Princess Pedal – “this Princess wears cleats” cap for her efforts.
There was Princess Spin-Sister – who could out-spin anyone on any hill, anytime.
There was Princess Pump-wrecker and magician – who showed us that you can break the tip of one’s stem off in the pump in one easy move – and still keep all the air in the tire. Who knew?
There was Princess Polkadot (jersey) – who seemed to quietly pull away – leaving the rest of us in the dust on the hill-climbs and finally,
There was Princess Daredevil Downhill – who was the MASTER at bombing the downhills and loving every minute of it.
Thank you Princesses. You made my weekend.
